I'm going to state right up front that I am pretty pissed off right now.
I just watched my favorite basketball team lose a game to an inferior team and I got my ass kicked in Black Ops 2 for two hours prior to that. Throw in the standard retail-employee-at-holiday-time malaise and I'm borderline homicidal right now.
That said, forgive me if I'm extraordinarily harsh on this commercial.
Christmas commercials almost universally suck, and this offering from Sears is no exception.

5 Hour Energy - Hours and Hours of Energy
As you may have seen last year, I pretty much hate every 5-Hour Energy commercial out there.
The newest batch of ads, featuring what seems to be a cowboy police officer or sheriff, may have changed my tune in regard to the company's advertising initiatives.
Here's one of the new commercials. I'll provide the full breakdown after the jump.

Apple iPhone - "Rainy Day" with Zooey Deschanel
I don't listen to She and Him. I didn't see "500 Days of Summer." I don't watch "The New Girl." The reason I haven't sampled these pieces of pop culture is simple: they all prominently feature actress Zooey Deschanel.
Hipsters and nerds take heed, because you're probably not going to like the rest of this post. I won't be offended if you watch the commercial below and leave the page. I promise I'm not bashing Zooey for the sake of bashing, she just has some traits I find painfully grating.
Here is the ad I'll be reviewing:

Apologies Are In Order
I apologize to those of you who stop by here often. I have been absent from commercial reviews for over a month, and it's largely due to a new job and increased focus on my sports writing and music. Either that or I'm still scarred from the Christmas season's ads.
I intend to work up some pretty cool shit in the next couple of weeks. The Super Bowl for Commercial Grade is like, well, the Super Bowl. There will be dozens of commercials to dissect, and I'm working on some cool stuff for that. I'll be sure to keep everyone in the loop.
Until next time,
-Keith
